How hydraulic fracturing works

How hydraulic fracturing works

This is a video posted by Exxon Mobil oil company demonstrating how they say their machinery works. In the video it explains that an oil rig is assembled by the oil companies in their desired location. After the rig is set up, hydraulic fluid consisting of chemicals such as Benzene, Toluene, and Ethylbenzene, Glutaraldehyde, Methonal, and over 50 more, is shot through many layers of rock until it reaches the natural water supply. After the well is deep enough it creates fractures in the rock allowing the oil to flow into the pipe.
